A motorist was arrested at the scene of a fatal accident last night on the N2 near George.
Spokesperson for Provincial Traffic in the Western Cape Kenny Africa says the driver was allegedly under the infuence of alcohol when he lost control of his Ford, hitting a Kia.
He says a passenger in the Kia died on the scene.
The name of the victim is unknown at this stage.
Meanwhile, several other people have lost their lives on Eastern Cape Roads, since Easter Friday.
On Friday two people were killed when their Polo, with six occupants, overturned on the N2 East near Fort Jacskon while two drivers were killed in single vehicle accidents in Libode and Ngcobo respectively.
In Port Elizabeth, near van Stadens Bridge a pedestrian was also killed.
Authorities in the Eastern Cape also mentioned an accident which took place on Friday on the R63 Komga road towards Bhisho.
Only one vehicle was involved in this accident and all the occupants, believed to be family members, were declared dead on the scene.
Authorities did not share with the media how many people were in this vehicle, just that the victims were aged between 12 and 22 years.
