Police in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth arrested more than 100 people in a crime fighting operation over the weekend.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu, says the focus of the operation was on visible policing in Motherwell and surrounds.
Among those arrested, were one for rape, eight for domestic violence, 11 for serious assault and 10 for drunken driving.
Gwavu says they also confiscated knives, dagga and counterfeit CDs.
Butterworth police also clamped down on drunken driving, and arrested 13 suspects over the weekend.
Spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says all the arrested drivers were detained for four hours before being allowed to post bail of R2 000 each for their release.
