Disgraced Port Elizabeth attorney, Michael Randell, reported to the clerk of the court on Monday morning to start serving out his four-year prison sentence.
Randell was sentenced to an effective four years in prison for defrauding Greenwood Primary school out of R2.5m.
This is after the Constitutional Court dismissed his application for leave to appeal his sentence saying it had no prospects of being successful.
Randell, now 65, was sentenced to six-year imprisonment in the Port Elizabeth's Commercial Crime's Court in 2016, two years of which were suspended.
He was found guilty of fraud which was committed while he was serving on the school's governing body between 1999 and 2006.
