A disbarred Gqeberha lawyer accused of fraud and theft has been found guilty of the crimes in the city's Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
Ann Swanepoel was barred from practising law in 2015 after she was found guilty of theft, yet continued seeing clients and pocketed thousands of rands from them.
A spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority Anelisa Ngacani says Swanepoel was found guilty on Friday.
Magistrate Onica van Papendorp found her guilty on all 11 charges against her, including five of fraud, five counts of contempt of court by contravening the Attorney's Act and one count of theft.
The matter was postponed to the 11th of November for sentencing.
Swanepoel made headlines in 2015 when she testified for the defence at the Christopher Panayioutou trial.
She initially represented the alleged hitman Sizwezakhe Vumazonke who died in prison before the trial commenced.
