A 24-year-old man from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape is in police custody after he allegedly murdered his disabled sister.
Police Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha says the 28-year-old deceased was living with a guardian at the Smuts Ngonyama Informal Settlement.
He says it is alleged that when the guardian went to the shop to purchase airtime on Wednesday, the brother entered her home.
Captain Manatha says when she returned to her house, she found the disabled woman covered in a blanket with wounds to her upper body.
The brother was arrested soon afterwards and will appear in court on Friday on a charge of murder.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
