Grahamstown police have opened a culpable homicide docket following the death of a severely disabled man in Market Street on Thursday night.
Captain Govender says the man had non-functioning legs and used to get around by dragging himself on his buttocks.
A motorist pulled out of his residence shortly after 7pm and told police he never saw the man but felt that he had hit something.
The disabled man, who has has not been named, was found dead at the scene.
Captain Govender says a culpable homicide docket has been opened.
