Disabled man dies after falling in the Cango Caves

A disabled man died when he fell down stairs in the Cango Caves near Oudtshoornon Friday.
The local municipality says in a statement the 41-year-old sustained fatal head injuries when he fell down the stairs in the second chamber of the caves, known as Botha’s hall.
It says the Cango Caves' medical response team was immediately activated, but attempts to resuscitate him failed and he was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
The man was part of tour group from Eljada, a local care centre for people living with disabilities, who were participating in a complimentary tour of the cave
Tours were temporarily halted at the caves following the incident, and will continue on Saturday.
