Destitute family receive fully furnished house in Bedford


Eastern Cape Human Settlements MEC, Helen Sauls-August and the mayor of the Amathole District Municipality, Nomasikizi Konza handed over a new fully furnished home to a destitute family in Bedford on Thursday.

Department head, Gaster Sharpley told Algoa FM News that the family of Ayolise Ntetho, a 9 year-old boy who was born without legs, were the beneficiaries of the house.

Sharpley said the department decided to assist the family, after their home was destroyed by gale force winds in June last year.

Family spokesperson, Nomvula Luphondo says the project changed their lives...

"Ayolise see's a bright future not only now as a young boy but also as a man and as a human being, his got dignity. We will enjoy the house thanks to Human Settlements, thanks to Amathole, everything is up to standard." says Luphondo.
