A 37 year-old Despatch woman made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes court on Thursday morning on a charges of fraud and corruption.
Lindy Johanna Sharp is alleged to have defrauded the SA Revenue Services of more than 1.7 million rands by submitting fictitous Paye as you Earn and Site taxes claims for 54 local tax payers.
Her personal cut from these claims amounted to R753 000.
She was released on warning and ordered to report to the Despatch Police Station every Saturday in terms of her bail conditions.
Sharp will be back in court on the 2nd of May.
Sars says four groups of people alleged to have profited from Sharp's fraudulent tax submissions will appear in the PE court regional court on Friday and on Monday.
