Uitenhage police are appealing for the public's assistance with identifying a pedestrian that was hit by a train in Despatch on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli says police were summoned to the scene in Holland Street at around 07h30, where they found the lifeless body of a man in his late twenties.
He says the deceased was wearing a black jacket, a pair of blue jeans and a pair of green sneakers.
Nkohli says it is alleged that the unknown man was walking on the railway lines when he was hit by a passenger train that was travelling from Uitenhage towards Port Elizabeth.
