Despatch man dies in hail of bullets

A 57 year-old man has died in a hail of bullets outside his home in Despatch.

Uitenhage police spokesperson Lieutenant Gerda Swart says Tyron Biehl was standing in his yard in Solomon Mahlango Street, Despatch, at around 8-30 on Saturday night when an unknown man walked up to him and shot him multiple times in the chest.

Biehl died on the scene.

Lieutenant Swart said Despatch police detectives were following up on several leads but had yet to make any arrests.
