The Eastern Cape Transport Department says the death toll from a horror accident outside Maletswai, has risen to six.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said the driver of a small truck involved in the crash, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Wednesday night.
A passenger in the truck was also seriously injured.
The Department reported that five people, two men, and three women, who were travelling in a bakkie died on the scene of the accident.
Their names have not yet been released but it’s understood they were employed by a TVET College.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
