The death toll from Saturday's accident between a schoolbus and minibus taxi on the R61 between Cradock and Graaf-Reinet in the Eastern Cape has risen to 17.
Police spokesperson, Capt John Fobian says the school principal of Cradock Primary School, Wimpie van der Merwe was among the victims.
He says deputy-minister of transport, Sindisiwe Chikunga and Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Thandiswa Marawu are expected to visit the injured on Sunday.
