The Department of Basic Education says the registration deadline for supplementary exams has been extended.
Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga, says the original closing date was Wednesday, 21st but this has now been extended to Friday the 30th.
He says this will allow learners who failed three subjects to register to rewrite two subjects.
"We have extended the deadline just to assist them and to ensure that as many of them can pass. We don't want students to become stuck in a situation where they can fail again" he said
Close on 136 000 learners have qualified for the supplementary exams, to be written from February 16 to March 24.
Results will be out on April 30th.
Meanwhile, Mhlanga says the report into mass copying at 14 schools in the Eastern Cape and also at schools in Kwazulu Natal, will be presented to Umalusi on Tuesday.
"The report is going to be given to Umalusi tomorrow. We believe everything is going according to schedule. We believe Umalusi will consider the reports and in the next few days we should be able to make an announcement on those implicated and found guilty"
