A memorial service will be held for 62-year-old Alexandria farmer Riaan Scheepers next Wednesday the 27th of December at the Dutch Reformed Church in Alexandria.
Captain Mali Govender says the service will be held at 11 am.
Scheepers died in hospital on Tuesday afternoon, nearly a month after being brutally attacked in his farmhouse on the 25th of November.
He was initially placed in an induced coma as doctors looked to reduce swelling in the brain.
Captain Govender says the 24-year-old Siphamandle Petse will now be charged with murder.
Several items of clothing, as well as Scheepers' cell phone, were recovered during Petse's arrest.
Captain Govender says Petse is being held in custody and will be back in court on the 30th of January.
More arrests are expected and the investigation is ongoing.
