The Death toll in Saturday's's horror bus accident in Willowvale in the Eastern Cape has risen to 35.
Spokesperson for the Department of Health Sizwe Kupelo says a privately owned bus was the only vehicle involved in the accident which took place on the R408 dirt road between Willowvale and Butterworth.
The bus was travelling from the Nkelekethe village outside Willowvale with 60 passengers on board when the driver lost control on a windy road.
Nine people were injured, six of them critically. They were taken to hospitals in Willowvale and East London.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
Meanwhile nine other people were killed in the early hours of Saturday morning on the R61 between Cradock and Graaff-Reinet.
A minibus taxi overturned on an embankment. Five people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
The ANC in the Eastern Cape have expressed their sadness and shock following Saturday's two fatal accidents claiming the lives of 43 people.
Provincial secretary of the ANC Oscar Mabuyane says they will engage with government to look into how the families can be assisted in this difficult time.
