Two men have been arrested in connection with the attack on Marikana lawyer, advocate Dali Mpofu, in East London.
Mpofu, who is representing miners at the Farlam Commission sustained several stab wounds in the attack in April.
National police spokesperson, brigadier Phuti Setati, says the two suspects, both aged 23, were arrested in Cambridge in East London on Tuesday.
He says the suspects were out on bail on another matter at the time of the Mpofu incident.
"They will be appearing in court on Friday and will be charged with assault and robbery. We also managed to recover the stolen cellphone as well as the weapon that was allegedly used in the attack. We are also looking at linking them to other crimes in the area" Setati said.
