Dagga worth R140,000 seized, suspects arrested


Three suspects have been arrested in Kubusi Location in the Stutterheim after they were found in possession of dagga worth close to R140,000, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.

According to a statement, at about 1am on Wednesday, Police followed up on information that was received and went to a house where dagga was hidden in Kubusi Location.

“On arrival, they recovered a suitcase full of dagga, 38 plastic bags of dagga, one bag sealed with loose dagga to the street value of R136,800. Suspects were inside the house and were immediately arrested and charged with dealing with dagga,” police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa said.

She said that a male aged 27 from Stutterheim and two females between the ages of 27 and 31 years from Libode are expected to appear at Stutterheim Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
