Democratic Alliance parliamentary leader, Lindiwe Mazibuko, will lead a march of senior party members in the Eastern Cape on Friday.
The "Save our Teachers March" will start in Zwelitsha and proceed to the provincial education department's head office.
The DA says the march seeks to draw attention to the plight of some 4-thousand teachers who will lose their jobs next year if the provincial education department goes ahead with the planned cut in teaching posts.
There are currently 64 752 teaching posts declared for 2012 but the post provision for 2013 stands at just 60 820 meaning that more than 4 000 posts could be cut because of a lack of funds.
