DA student organisation to present petition to Fort Hare University

The DA student organisation, Daso, says it will present a petition to management at Fort Hare University on Wednesday.

It says the petition has been signed by over a thousand students who are calling for the payment of outstanding meal allowances to students on financial aid.

These payments have reportedly not been made since the beginning of the year.

Daso says it will hold a march on Fort Hare's Alice campus at lunch-time on Wednesday.

The march will be led by DA MP and interim Youth Leader, Yusuf Cassim.
