The Democratic Alliance says Traditional Affairs Minister Richard Baloyi hasn't handled the pandemic of the deaths of young men at initiation schools well.
Thirty boys were reported to have died since the beginning of the winter traditional circumcision season in the Eastern Cape.
DA shadow minister of traditional affairs, George Boinamo, visited Mthatha General hospital on Monday, where dozens of boys are being treated for dehydration and for injuries related to botched circumcisions.
Boinamo questioned whether Minister Baloyi has the political will to address this pandemic.
Meanwhile 2 men accused of running an illegal initiation school appeared in the Barkley West Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Northern Cape police say Winston Moleleki and Joseph Makhasane, will be back in court on July 15.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the two are also charged with kidnapping two youths and forcing them to attend an initiation school.
She says they were hospitalised after botched circumcisions.
