The Democratic Alliance in the Eastern Cape says it cannot condone the actions of parents and teachers at the Templeton High School in Bedford.
They closed the school due to, among others, the non-payment of temporary teachers and general shortage of educators.
DA member of the Bhisho legislature, Dacre Haddon, says he has been in touch with Eastern Cape Education MEC Mandla Makapula over the issue.
"What is serious is that the teachers have embarked on a wildcat strike which is illegal and while we sympathise with their plight the matter should be resolved much quicker than it is being. I have on Wednesday with my colleague in the legislature, Edmund van Vuuren, interacted with the MEC who has undertaken that he will speak directly to the principal of the school and resolve the issue" he said.
