A 25-year-old man was fatally injured in a collision on Victoria Drive, Walmer, at around 4.30 on Sunday afternoon.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Luka Chafulumira was on his bicycle and was allegedly cycling on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic.
A municipal waste truck was driving from Buffelsfontein Road to the Walmer tip when the protruding part of the truck hit him. He died on the scene.
Police are investigating a case of Culpable Homicide and are warning all cyclists or commuters using bicycles to adhere to the rules of the road.
