A Port Elizabeth man accused of severely assaulting his former girlfriend continued his bid for bail on Wednesday.
Legal counsel for Brent Cunningham accused police investigators of not putting all the facts on the table during the first, failed, bail hearing.
The 21-year old is accused of severely assaulting his former girlfriend Shireen Ballan and two other people in December and is currently being held at St Albans prison for almost 5 months.
His lawyer, Danie Gouws, said among the facts not submitted by the investigating officer was a detailed statement by Cunningham.
He also argued that the media had blown Cunninghams case out of proportion and it was not as serious as the Oscar Pistorius matter.
