Cradock suspect arrested in PE

Port Elizabeth police have arrested a wanted suspect from Cradock.

Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says numerous complaints were received from residents in the Kensington area about suspects allegedly involved in housebreakings and robberies.

She says it is alleged that although the community knew the suspects, they feared for their lives and opted not to open cases against them.

It was established that the man was wanted in Cradock for similar cases, and a warrant of arrest was issued by police in the Karoo town.

Janse van Rensburg says the 26 year-old-suspect was arrested at his residence in Kensington on Friday.

She says detectives from Cradock travelled to Port Elizabeth and identified that the man was indeed the wanted suspect, John Clulow.

He made a brief appearance in the city's Magistrate's Court on Friday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance in the Craddock Magistrate's Court on Monday.
