Police in Tsolo in the Eastern Cape have arrested two women and a man for allegedly being in possession of Sassa cards and thousands of rands in cash.
Police spokesperson, Captain Dineo Koena, says the 28-year-old man is an employee of the pension payment company, Cash Paymaster Services.
She says a police patrol became suspicious when they spotted a vehicle travelling in the town on Thursday.
They pulled it over and upon searching it found bank and Sassa cards belonging to grant beneficiaries in their possession as well as more than 24-thousand Rand in cash.
Captain Koena says the three will appear in court on Monday.
She says upon searching the vehicle they also found 15 ID books, 13 SASSA cards and 1 Capitec Bank Card.
