The Buffalo City Metro Command Centre has identified certain East London suburbs as Covid 19 hot spot areas.
Municipal spokesperson Samnkelo Ngwenya has called on communities to be vigilant as new positive cases are rising at an alarming rate in the city.
He’s also advising local BnB, hotel and hospitality accommodation owners not to allow customers to turn their businesses into party venues as these are now becoming mini super-spreader events.
Ngwenya says there are currently 458 active cases in the Buffalo City Metro.
Areas currently being monitored include Amalinda, Bonnie Doon, Beacon Bay North, Baysville, Emerald Sky, Bunksershill, Beanconhusrt, Central Rosedale, Nahoon, Blue Bend, East Bank Squatter Camp, Saxilby, Nahoon Beach, Bonza Bay, North End, Sohco Flats, Nahoon Valley, Quigney, Thornbush, Stirling, Vincent and Woodleigh.
