Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of house robbery after a woman and her fiancé were tied up at a smallholding in Witteklip Road, in Uitenhage farms on Monday night.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the couple arrived home just after 6 pm and as they entered the house they were confronted by three armed suspects who were already inside.
She says the couple attempted to run outside but were followed and ushered back into the house where they were tied up.
The suspects, who were armed with guns, ransacked the house before fleeing with jewellery, laptops, phones, watches, a TV and a gym bag full of clothes.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says it is alleged that the suspects gained entry through an unlocked door.
The couple managed to untie themselves and alerted the police.
