The case involving two police offices linked to the murder of the 16-year-old Nathaniel Julies has been postponed.
The 26-year-old Caylene Whiteboy and the 46-year-old Simon Scorpion Ndyalvane appeared before the Protea Magistrates Court on Monday.
The two officers face charges of murder, discharging a firearm in a public space, unlawful possession of ammunition and defeating the ends of justice.
The State alleges that the police officers used ammunition that is prohibited by law and that they attempted to discard evidence.
The teenage boy, who had Down Syndrome, was shot in Eldorado Park and died in hospital last week Wednesday.
This incident caused an uproar not only in Eldorado Park but also nationwide including online platforms such as Twitter who had the hashtag “ #JusticeforNathanialJulies”.
Ndyalvane and Whiteboy are expected back in court next week Thursday for a possible bail application.
