Police in Middelburg in the Eastern Cape are on the hunt for two suspects who attacked and robbed a farmer over the weekend.
Police spokesperson, captain Stefaani Smith, says 31-year-old Marais van der Merwe, sustained head injuries and lacerations after being attacked with a panga and also beaten by the men.
She says the two accosted him on his farm on Friday night when he returned home from town.
Smith says the suspect left him in the veld but he made his way home and drove to a neighbouring farm for help.
Anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation should contact their nearest police station.
