One of five suspects arrested by Port Elizabeth police for business robbery on Thursday, is said to be a convicted rapist.
Warrant Officer Alwin Labans says the 24-year-old man was released from prison two weeks ago.
He was arrested with four other men by members of the police's tactical response team, following a robbery at a shop in Algoa Park.
All five will appear in court on Monday.
