An Eastern Cape man jailed last week for thirty years for murder and attempted murder, will be back in court again in September facing another two attempted murder charges.
Forty-one-year-old Mandla Liwana was jailed for 20 years for murder and another ten for attempted murder in the Aliwal North Magistrate's Court.
The court also ordered that the sentences will not run concurrently.
Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Celiwe Binta, says Liwana will appear in court on the first of September on separate charges of attempted murder.
She also welcomed the lengthy jail sentences imposed on him last week for the murder of a 17-year-old girl and the attempted murder of her male companion.
She says contact crime is a priority for the SA Police Service in the Eastern Cape.
