A dentist from George who is currently serving a three-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy pleaded guilty on an additional charge of contempt of court.
The 46-year-old Ian Venter appeared in the Thembalethu Magistrates court on Thursday.
Venter was earlier sentenced in a separate matter to four years correctional supervision in November 2014 for performing sexual acts on a minor.
While he was out on bail, Venter, however, violated one of the conditions of his sentence which stated that he was not allowed to work with children.
Between 2014 and 2017 Venter continued to treat children patients at his practice.
For the charge of contempt of court, he was sentenced to five years direct imprisonment of which two years have been suspended for five years.
The remaining three years will be served concurrently with the rest of his three-year sentence.
