Continental Tyre South Africa on Tuesday announced that 45-year-old Shaun Uys will become the new managing director of the German company.
He assumes the position on the 1st of August when current MD, Dieter Horni, returns to Germany after a six year stint in South Africa.
Continental says while serving as Sales and Marketing Manager, Uys set into motion the company's expansion into Sub Saharan Africa and Africa as part of the Continental Tyre's long term growth strategy known as Vision 2025.
Uys says he believes that Africa holds enormous potential and as a demonstration of Continental's confidence they've established a legal entity in Ghana and are planning another in East Africa by 2020.
