Congregants of the NG Church in Hartenbos are still in shock following Sunday's tragic incident in which a new member of the church was killed.
An 85-year-old woman reportedly lost control of her vehicle and drove over two people, damaging two vehicles in the process.
According to reports, the woman put her car in reverse when she reportedly lost control.
The accident happened shortly after Sunday's service in the church parking lot.
The two male victims were taken to different hospitals where the one died later from his injuries.
The Church leader Ds Willem Smit said the victims were both new members who recently moved to the area.
He said the 85-year-old woman and her husband have been loyal members for many years.
Smit said funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
He said they were offering their support to all members affected by this tragedy.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
