Concern over increase in gang related violence in PE's northern areas

Port Elizabeth police have expressed concern over the fact that 10 gang-related incidents were reported in the city's northern areas since New Year's Day until Sunday.
Spokesperson, WO Alwin Labans says in the latest incident on Saturday, a 28-year old woman was shot in the upper leg by a suspected gang member in Helenvale.
He says 7 shots were fired during the incident.
The woman was admitted to hospital, and the suspect is still at large.
Earlier on Saturday, a 33-year old taxi driver was shot in the head, and he died at the scene.
Labans says no arrests have yet been made.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, the body of a 28-year old man was found in Helenvale with a bullet wound to the head.
