The Coega Development Corporation has been nominated as a finalist in the fifth annual SA Premier Business Awards.
The awards ceremony takes place on Tuesday in Sandton and are presented by the Department of Trade and Industry in partnership with Brand South Africa and Proudly South African.
CDC head of marketing, Dr Ayanda Vilikazi, said that they had, in the past, done well at the awards.
He said in 2014 the CDC walked away with the Most Empowered Enterprise Award and this year was nominated as a finalist for the Investor of the Year award.
Vilikazi said that this category aims to encourage the expansion of investment into the South African economy.
He said the Coega Development Corporation has done “exceptionally well” on the investment front with 41 operational investors with a combined investment value of R6.996bn.
