Coca Cola truck torched in protest on R75

A Coca-Cola truck has been torched by a group of protestors on the R75 in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says the group of about 150 people took to the streets in a protest relating to electricity issues at 5 am on Wednesday.

He says Public Order Policing were dispatched to the area known as the Chatty Dip and the group quickly dispersed.

Beetge says members are still at the scene monitoring the situation but the road has since been opened.
