Classes at the Eastern Cape's Walter Sisulu University have been interrupted by a workers' strike, which started on Monday.
They are protesting at the Buffalo City- and Butterworth campuses for a wage increase.
University spokesperson Angela Church says management and the union are still locked in meetings, and have been since Tuesday.
Church says Nehawu issued an intention to strike to the administrator, professor Lourens van Staden, on Monday but did not get permission.
She adds that no agreement has been reached and there is no certainty as to when normal activities will resume.
