Christmas came early for over six thousand kids in Buffalo City Metro when mayor Zukiswa Ncitha gifted them with toys and snacks.
Ncitha, with the full funding of billionaire Patrice Motsepe's Foundation and supporters of his team Mamelodi Sundowns, spread out across all 50 wards of Buffalo City Metro, handing Christmas goodies to kids on Thursday.
The foundation has an on going partnership with the city which includes the annual toy drive and a free star studded live music show on Saturday on the beachfront.
Mayor Ncitha says it's significant to give to these kids as some of them won't be getting any gifts from their families on Christmas day because of their financial situations.
"To give them a Christmas in advance in November, for them it's wow. We take all the wards, it does not matter if it is a DA ward, we just take all wards. Sundown supporters are also her. The Motsepe' foundations is part and parcel of helping the project." says Ncitha.
