Five people have been killed and between 12 and 15 others injured in a three car collision on the N-2 near East London.
Police spokesperson, captain Steven Marais, says two young girls, two women and a man were killed in Tuesday afternoon's accident.
He says the cause of the accident between a mini-bus taxi, a delivery vehicle and a passenger vehicle, is not yet known but will be the subject of a forensic investigation.
Marais says the injured are being taken to hospital in East London.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
