The Plettenberg Bay computer engineer accused of having links to a horrific international child pornography network briefly took his place in the dock in the Knysna Regional Court on Monday.
The 37-year-old, who cannot be named until he has pleaded, was arrested at his home in the costal holiday town during a police raid on January 13 this year.
The bust was part of a police operation, by South African and Belgian police specialised sexual crimes units and exposed a child pornography ring linked to a cyber meeting space for paedophiles whose fetishes seem to be the sexual abuse of babies.
Police allegedly found sections of files containing hundreds of images and videos of violent assaults as well as internet addresses of more than 300 other alleged paedophiles.
The Plett local briefly took his place in the dock, but the matter was postponed to November 4 as the charge sheet was still in Cape Town with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and has to be formalised.
His bail was extended.
