Celebs and politicians pay respect to Reeva

A large media contingent is assembled outside the Victoria Park Crematorium in Port Elizabeth ahead of the memorial service for model and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp.

The family of Steenkamp, who was shot dead on Thursday at her Paralympian boyfriend Oscar Pistorius' home, have asked the media to respect their privacy.

AlgoaFM News editor Shadley Nash says there is an air of restrained suspense at the tranquil, weather-beaten building.

Among the well-known mourners at the service are DJ Fresh, springbok rugby player Francois Houghaard and local jockey Gavin Venter.
Venter told journalists that Pistorious should not be granted bail.
