Case against EC mom who allegedly killed daughter's rapist-struck off the roll

The case against an Eastern Cape woman who stabbed one of her daughter's rapists to death and seriously wounded two others has been struck off the court roll.

The state decided that there was not enough evidence to prosecute the case and decided to strike it off the roll.

Members of the public in the gallery reportedly began cheering when the prosecutor made the announced.

The woman was arrested for the death of Zamile Siyeka early last month and the attempted murder of two other men whom she caught raping her 27-year-old daughter.

NPA spokesperson, Luxolo Tyali, says the senior state prosecutor considered the evidence before her after the woman made her first court appearance.

The Public Prosecutor declined to prosecute.
