The case against 29-year old double murder accused, Morne van der Linden, has been postponed in the Port Elizabeth High Court.
He's accussed of murdering his wife's 79-year-old grandmother, Catherine Stofberg, and her 54-year-old son, Kenneth Morar, in August last year.
Van Der Linden has pleaded guilty to the murder charges but he maintained that his actions were not premeditated.
He has also pleaded not guilty to additional charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, but conceded stealing Stofberg's cellphone.
Forensic pathologist, Dr Prudent Mgobo, testified today about the injuries suffered by the deceased.
He told the court that he could confidently say that a hammer, which was found on the scene, was never used in both cases.
However, he did say that blunt force had caused the deaths of Stofberg and Morar.
The state and defence will present closing arguments on Wednesday.
