A 44-year-old man is expected to appear in court in East London soon after several vehicles stolen in the Western Cape were recovered by police.

According to a police statement, an investigation by Goodwood detectives into the theft of a Ford Ranger bakkie led them to the Eastern Cape.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, said the investigating team drove to the Eastern Cape in a bid to trace the vehicle.

“Upon searching the identified premises, the investigating team discovered seven vehicles that were positively reported stolen in the Western Cape,” he said.

Swartbooi said the suspect was detained on a charge of possession of stolen motor vehicles.
