Caregiver raped at old age home in Gqeberha

Police in Gqeberha are searching for two suspects who allegedly raped a 41-year-old caregiver at an old age home in Zwide.

Spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, says the suspects forcefully entered the premises in Booi Street and threatened her with a firearm at about 1 am on Sunday.

She says after one of them raped her, they fled on foot with a plasma TV.

Swart says detectives are following up on all possible leads and no arrests have yet been made.

She says a case of business robbery is also being investigated.
