George police have spent 12 hours negotiating with a man who threatened to jump from a building in York Street on Sunday evening.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says two police officers negotiated with him on a two-hourly basis until he was eventually 'talked down'.
He says the man finally climbed back through the window of the flat where he presumably lives.
Pojie says it is alleged that the man was involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the day.
He was taken to the George Hospital at around 6 am on Monday, for observation.
