Police are warning the public not to accept help from strangers when withdrawing money from ATM's.
This, after a 51-year-old man was arrested on Friday for an alleged card-skimming scam in Despatch.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said the suspect was found in possessions of several thousand rands allegedly withdrawn from the bank accounts of two people in the town.
The arrests were made by Sergeants Bruce Brits and Christine De Wet who had responded to reports to be on the lookout for a man wearing a jacket from a private security company and driving a Mercedes Benz.
The suspect will appear in court on Tuesday.
"Police are warning bank clients to be vigilant and also not to accept offers of help from strangers with ATM transactions," Nkohli said.
