A campaign to reduce HIV and Aids through male circumcision practises has rolled out in the Eastern Cape.
The campaign is being run by the Western Cape-based TB/HIV Care Association in conjunction with that province's Health Department.
Spokesperson, Zolani Barnes, says they hope to reduce HIV infection by 60%.
He says two doctors on their team will be performing medical circumcisions in Uitenhage on Saturday.
He's appealed to men to take advantage of this opportunity.
"In other provinces it's been very steady but we do feel that the more people that get to know about it and understand the benefit of having circumcision people are making use of the service. Last week in the Western Cape we managed to circumcise 55 males and for this coming Saturday we have a list of 68 men that have registered" Barnes said.
